Visiting Disneyland? Tips to Make Your Visit Amazing

Visiting Disneyland with kids can be an exciting and magical experience. But it can also be overwhelming and stressful if you’re not prepared. It can feel overwhelming making sure you get the most out of your visit. Over the years, this iconic Southern California park has become more and more popular. It’s harder than ever to “do all the things”. As a parent, you want your children to have the time of their lives, so here are some tips to help you plan the perfect trip to Disneyland.

Tips for Making Your Trip to Disneyland Amazing

Plan Ahead for Your Day at Disneyland

Plan ahead It’s important to plan your trip ahead of time, especially if you’re visiting during peak season. Make sure to book your tickets and accommodation well in advance, so you don’t miss out on the best deals. You can also download the Disneyland app, which will give you access to wait times, show schedules, and dining options. If you have a specific restaurant you’d love to eat at, make sure you book your meal reservations as far in advance as possible. One of the most popular restaraunts is the Blue Bayau. This romantic spot is almost impossible to get a reservation at. But if you aren’t able to get one try to join the walkup list on the day of your visit!

Dress Comfortably When Visiting Disneyland

Disneyland requires a lot of walking and standing. So it’s important to dress your kids (and yourself) in comfortable clothing and shoes. Also, consider bringing a change of clothes, especially if you plan on riding water attractions. For me, I like dressing cute but exersize shoes are a must at the park!

Bring Snacks and Water

For me, part of the fun at Disneyland is getting to try all the delicious and fun foods, snacks and desserts. But food and drinks can be expensive inside the park, so it’s a good idea to bring your own snacks and water. You can also bring a refillable water bottle and fill it up at the water fountains throughout the park.

Take Break

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of Disneyland, but it’s important to take breaks and rest your feet. You can take advantage of the many benches and shaded areas around the park, or even take a nap in one of the many quiet areas. Seeing shows or parades are a great way to take a break but still be intertained. If visiting California Adventures, my family loves going to Turtle Talk!

Use Rider Swap

If you have younger children who aren’t tall enough to ride certain attractions, you can use the rider swap program. One adult can wait with the child while the other rides, and then they can switch places without having to wait in line again. This is awesome because your child is able to ride the rides twice!

Meet Disney Characters

Meeting Disney characters when visiting Disneyland can be a highlight of your child’s visit. Check the Disneyland app for character locations and schedules, and bring a camera to capture the moment.

Watch the parades and shows Disneyland offers many parades and shows throughout the day, and they are a great way to take a break from the rides and crowds. Check the schedule and plan your day around the shows that your kids want to see.

Be prepared for the weather The weather in Anaheim can be unpredictable, so it’s important to be prepared for all types of weather. Bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses for sunny days, and jackets and umbrellas for cooler and rainy days.

In conclusion, visiting Disneyland with kids can be a wonderful experience as long as you plan ahead and are prepared for the crowds and weather. By following these tips, you can ensure that your family has a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth.
