Cool Off And Catch Some Thrills At These Family-Friendly Waterparks In San Diego

Sesame Place

2052 Entertainment Circle, Chula Vista, California 91911

Sesame Place is always a waterpark hit for younger San Diego kids! After all, where else can you go to meet all your favorite friends like Elmo, Zoey, Big Bird, and Burt and Ernie? While the park is amazing all year long, during the summer, they open up the waterpark where you can make memories while splashing around. Your child can run around in The Count’s Splash Castle or race down the slides on the Honker Dinger Dash. They also have lazy rivers and kid-friendly wave pools.

LEGOLAND

One Legoland Dr, Carlsbad, California 92008

The LEGOLAND resort is an all-seasons San Diego center with a waterpark that opens up each March. Just like the legendary LEGO brand itself, this park has something for all ages! Teens are going to love tearing down the tube slides while younger kids will adore the Imagination Station. They even have a Build-Your-Own raft option that lets you and your crew design a float together before taking it on a test drive down the lazy river.

Wave Waterpark

101 Wave Drive, Vista, California 92083

While Wave Waterpark still pulls in crowds, it tends to be a little less hectic than some of the other San Diego options. Not only will you have fewer crowds, but you are going to have activities that are geared toward the entire family! You can try your hand at surfing with The Flow Rider or take it easy with El Rio Loco. They even offer swim lessons to ensure every child is ready for the adventure that awaits them in the park!

Plunge San Diego

3115, Ocean Front Walk, San Diego, California 92109

Plunge San Diego is a luxury swimming pool that has been a fixture in the community for 100 years. This pool might be the smallest of the bunch, but it still packs in a lot of fun! You can regularly find an inflatable obstacle course where your child can get out their energy while racing against their friends. There are lap pools as well as lounge areas where you can grab a snack. The pool is located in the beloved Belmont Park, putting some of the best San Diego attractions just outside of your door!
