As a San Diego family photographer (and mom myself) I’m always looking for fun San Diego Toy Stores! It’s always fun to have a look around as a family, and it’s so nice to have a go to spot for gifts for friends! San Diego is a gem when it comes to small, unique and locally owned businesses. I’ve put together a list of the top 3 in the area you should definitely take a look at when searching for kids stores in San Diego.
Pigment
I love Pigment so much! There is something for everyone here. The store is very well curated with the absolute cutest decor, gift items and clothing. The kids area is unsurprisingly adorable and my son is always obsessed with everything they have displayed, I can’t blame him! The store is very aesthetically pleasing and just a great place to look around. I love how many plants they have displayed and for sell here. Pigment is an amazing place because they also offer community events and events specifically you can bring your kids to do activities too! There are several locations you can visit Pigment in; North Park, Liberty Station and Del Mar. The cherry on top of this super cute kids store in San Diego is its locally owned by a sweet family and many of the products come from local sellers and makers right here in San Diego!
Gepettos
Did you know Geppetto’s is a local San Diego company? I was surprised to find out this myself since it is such a core memory visiting Geppetto’s growing up myself! Geppetto’s has gifts for a wide range of gifts for just about every age. You can find books, toys and activities. It’s always fun to find new things here! Another great perk about this cute kids store in San Diego is they offer complimentary gift wrapping, making your shopping even easier!
Magical Child
Right along the 101 in Encinitas you’ll find the adorable, Magical Child. They have an awesome collection of babies, toddlers and kids gifts, clothing and footwear! Everything is so unique and special. They’ve done a great job with this shop and it definitely has a beachy theme to it which I love! This local San Diego kids shop has been around since 1995. It is a classic for families to shop at for kids items. I love how colorful and fun everything they sell is! This shop is extremely popular for good reason.
