If your kids are into animals, trains and farm life… Zoomars in Orange County at River Street Ranch is the place for them! Zoomars is more than a petting zoo, there are so many great activities to try out here, you really will be getting the whole western experience by visiting!
What is Zoomars
Zoomars is a family owned and operated petting zoo located in the historic Los Rios district in San Juan Capistrano. There is no shortage for family fun here, with over 100 animals, 6 attractions, activities and playgrounds. This is truly such a unique experience to visit! Zoomars also hosts birthday parties which I think would be an absolute hit for any kid age!
Animals
Kids will love feeding and petting a variety of animals. You can start small feeding the guinea pigs and bunnies in the enclosed area. The staff at Zoomars is extremely helpful, friendly and educational so you and your children will feel right at ease playing with these sweet animals. The whole park has a very outdoor farm feel to get you in the right spirit. There is also a goat and sheep pen where you can feed, pet and brush these animals! The list just keeps going, my favorite thing to do is feeding apples to the alpacas, I can’t get over their extremely soft fur, and everyone gets a chuckle at the noises they make!
Attractions
Every member of the family will have fun here, there is so much to do! Zoomars offers pony rides for children ages 3-10 years old. There are also train and tractor rides that my son loved so much! If you have a construction lover like I do, get them a ticket to ride the mini electric excavator, it won’t be something they forget! To top it off, try your luck at mining for gold! And of course, Zoomars has a fantastic western themed playground for children to enjoy!
Information on Visiting
Zoomars is open from 10:00am – 4:00pm on weekends and weekdays. Zoomars describes themselves as big time fun at a guinea pig price! Tickets are between $12-15 for children and adults but kids 18 months and under are FREE! There are also discounts available for military and seniors! Be sure to dress the part, Zoomars is fully outdoors so plan on getting a little dusty during your visit. Most families typically enjoy the park for around 2 hours. The park is located in the historic Los Rios district so once you’re done with Zoomars be sure to walk over and enjoy the sites in the rest of the area and grab a bite to eat!
